Let me first introduce myself. I am Agent Orange Phoenix of the SCP Foundation. The Foundation does not know this because I haven’t told them yet. Maybe this short auto-bio will get to the right set of eyes so we can figure out how to get me back on payroll. Okay so I am getting ahead of my self. That doesn’t make sense yet.
Also, I apologize in advance if my writing lacks some of my usual idiosyncrasies. I am excited about this “discovery” and with all the possibilities of my future that could now possibly happen. There’s a big road ahead. But again, I digress – let me just get into it!
If you are not familiar with the SCP Foundation – in a nutshell, they locate anomalies in the form of: entities, sentient beings, objects, locations and even dimensional portals – demonic monsters and self-mutating genes, a polaroid camera that takes “interactive” photographs.
The Foundation might hear about the anomaly through an outside source or they pick it up on their radar. They have sites in virtually every corner of the planet as well as their own servers which allow them to pretty much have eyes and ears everywhere – from social media and message boards, to their own spiders crawling through the dark web – powered by “custom” servers.
So… the reason (in a very small nutshell) why the SCP does not even know me and why I do not have memories of the inside of any of the Areas or Sites is because in this life I have yet to physically step inside any SCP facility. (Definitely more on this later.)
Once agents locate the “problem”, the “S.C.P.” of SCP comes in:
Secure – Secure the anomaly/entity/object and get it far from humans to a safe location.
Contain – Contain the anomaly in a specifically custom-built area just for that particular entity.
Protect – Protect the anomaly by constantly updating containment procedures and running tests to see the extent of its abilities, and in some cases – using the anomalous properties for scientific or technological advancements.
I have natural abilities and spiritual gifts that will only strengthen if given a position at the SCP Foundation!
Here are 2 tasks that I perform:
- Every once in a while, an SCP “comes to me” – either in my imagination, directly or non-directly, from that SCP. It comes in vivid and intricate detail so I have to assume its an anomaly that just has yet to be “Secured”.
- I have come to believe there are anomalies that exist all over the planet, and virtually every single person has unknowingly been in contact with at least one or been in the vicinity of one. So what I do is approach “instances” that seem odd (even if they are written off as “normal” occurrences). Like someone seeing something but then the subconscious immediately takes over and tells you “you KNOW it was just a “trick of the light”. Or when “something” appears right outside of you peripheral vision. I take such occurrences and label and dissect them. Is it a spirit or entity behind this? Is it a form of energy? Spiritual residue? Sentience?
Let me give you specific, detailed examples of a couple of these “anomalies” – as I have personally experienced the following instances and many more!
**The SCPs I “discover” will be labeled with negative numbers (-04) so as to not “overlap” with any existing SCPs.
SPC -44 – Internal Compass Glitch (or ICG)
First I’m telling you what this isn’t! It is NOT when you are walking through an unfamiliar forest or large area you’ve never been to before; then becoming lost. ICG “happens” when you are walking/driving in your own city or even neighborhood.
You’re driving home from work and come to a stop at a red light. Your mind goes instantly to a memory from earlier in the week; when your fiancée surprised you with an Italian-themed dinner. You look up just as the traffic light turns green, and as you start driving down the long street, you arch your eyebrows – “Wait a minute!”, you say out loud, “Where the hell am I?”. You look around the surroundings almost seem foreign to you. You actually experience a little anxiety in your chest. You live in this damn city! How could you be lost? Just as you start to reach for your cellphone for GPS guidance – you see McDonalds. “Oh wait! I’m… I.. I know where I am now but how did I get to this part of town?” You pass McDonalds. It’s a little after 6pm so there are like 18 cars waiting in the drive-thru, trying to spend there hard-earned money on “food” filled with plastic particulates and chemicals. You get your bearings and make a couple right turns – getting back to Main St. – taking you back home.
This is easily brushed-off as “temporary amnesia” or discombobulation of the mind – due to being exhausted. While this might be the case more times than not – I do not accept this as an explanation for some particularly intense cases. Like many SCPs, your conscious and even sub-conscious thoughts and demeanor can effect the entity, object or “being”.
SCP -44, ICG, is a spirit (like a joker demon) waits till you are distracted, and then intentionally throws you off the path to your destination. In some rare cases, the person driving or walking; just keeps going straight (out of panic) until they actually get lost in another town or unfamiliar area – or worse – the subject falls deep in to paranoia and for a period of hours, wandering around their own city, but completely lost – like they’re in a giant maze.
